I bought this a while ago and only used it occasionally. These days I really don't have a need for it, as my tripods all have quick release plates anyway.

Almost 100% metal construction, very solid and strong. Really feels like a quality item. Very strong and long lasting construction. I expect it could hold a good amount of weight, it's certainly never had any trouble with what I put on it.

Adds quick release capabilities to any standard camera mount. Threads on.

I think $30 + shipping is a fair price. I expect postage would be dead cheep.

If you don't have a quick release plate on your mount this could make a real difference to ease of use.
