Thanks very much Ray and Matt for the pointers. Found a suitable M5 with a nice black knurled top, cut it down to about 8mm. Hole filled
Had the feeling I'd find some way of stuffing this up, and may have been dumb enough to screw a longer screw in against the drawtube. Trap for unwary avoided.
