Setting up and tearing down every session does leave more room for user set up errors.

It is worth sending Leonardo a message if you want to give Voyager another try. I found him to be very reasonable when I was in a similar situation.
The mount interface in Voyager will be ASCOM so as long as the Tak interface is ASCOM compliant, it shouldn't be an issue using it with Voyager. There must be dozens of people with Tak gear using it. As for setting up and tearing down each session, with the weight of the EQ8 that would be impossible. The pool pump shed has been fantastic as I'm using my gear a lot more these days. The other advantage is not creating additional variables each session, for example collimation and polar alignment. That has helped me get a set of guiding parameters that work quite consistently so I'm not wasting time experimenting any more.
