SCT Crayford focuser arrived this morning ...so I went to work on the change over of the 2 x speed pinion shaft and knobs.

I pulled it apart and set aside the bits I needed.

I then discovered I could put the 2 x speed knob straight onto my WO 80mm Refractor pinion shaft .... but .....the housing on the WO Focuser ( because the way it is made ) doesn't allow the 2 x speed mechanism to sit inside the WO Focuser ' housing' properly ...which stop me from being able to use it .

I can focus in and out using the 'single ' speed knob ... but it doesn't allow me the availability to use the 2 x speed operation.

...well we live and learn ...someday the parts may come to use for another project.

edit ....I put this up so anybody who might consider doing the same thing , won't get caught out like I did.....great in theory...doesn't work in the real world.

Note to self : MoonLite comes to mind ....!!
