NGC 1398 in Fornax is a barred spiral about 130 kly across with a double ring structure. It is about 65 Mly distant.

The three nights I got on the target were unfortunately not great - seeing around 2.8", and patches of cloud. Total exposure was 2hr 50min L and 3hr RGB. I think this galaxy needs a bit more (Chart 32 gave it 17hours!)

Processed in PI and PS, and it took more work than than I like to do, since the data was not really up to standard Definitely worth another campaign.

Field of view 28' x 22'.
