As an amateur astronomer of 35 years standing, NGC 5128, AKA Centaurus A has always been known to us Southern Hemisphere Observers as the "Hamburger galaxy"
NGC 3628 has only acquired that name in the Northern Hemisphere.
Down south it is a rather faint object and only gets any glory in images as part of the Leo Triplet.
It's even faint in the northern hemisphere,so faint in fact that Monsieur's Messier and Mechain failed to spot it when observing NGC 3623 (M65) and NGC 3627 (M66).
In fact NGC 3628 looks more like a greasy Hot Dog than a Hamburger.
So keep on keeping on with calling NGC 5128 the "Hamburger galaxy."
