double dutch to me Dennis, But what I do understand; yes the laptop and desktop can communicate to each other either by cable or wireless. Firewall hasn't been updated that I know of and I have programs requiring updates to ask before updating.
h0ughy, I'm using Sygate, which I've never had any probs with before. I uninstalled it and still have the same problem.
I do recall one thing from the previous night when I was outside, I went to do an update with Starry Night Pro and couldn't. It said it was blocked or prevented or some such rubbish.
The network says I'm connected np. The really bizarre bit is it seems to be really selective in what itsn't uploaded or downloaded.
