Uneven diffraction spikes?

Hi All,

I am experiencing uneven diffraction spikes in my images.

Unfortunately, I didn't save an image of it, but I have an illustration that is fairly accurate to what I observed. I will collect some photos next clear night.

I noticed it slightly a couple of weeks ago, but it became extremely clear when I imaged a bright star.

I do suspect I have some tilt in my image train introduced by my filter wheel pointed in the direction of the smaller spikes, I have a tilt adapter which I have used to reduce the tilt.
I also have some astigmatism, the exact source of which I am unsure of...

My question is whether this uneven diffraction spike is a result of tilt? And if so could I use it as a reporter of tilt to hone in the tilt even more?

Has anyone experienced this?

Regards,
Stefan
