My mount was plopped on the same spots on the concrete I always put it, I last polar aligned it with the SCT and drift align so just dropping it on the spot gets me under +- 30' of the pole. I then use the lens and camera to do a 1 star align on the HC to use go-to functionality for dim stuff, coincidently also Vela. I referenced stellarium, and bright stars in live view to roughly frame, followed by a test shot.
Plate solving is definitely better lol.
