Suggest you have a look a Startools. It's an inexpensive once-of purchase (think ~$65au) and does a great job of taking your raw file from DSS to something special. I still use PS to finish off, but Startools is a great processing tool designed for Astro. The program is reasonably intuitive for people without an engineering degree (unlike some) and there are youtube tutorials and help inside the program for guidance.
