The dendrils (gas whatevers) near the core in 1:1 crop can almost talk, with their sharp focus/detail set off against the smoother background gas, almost like a portrait photographer would isolate the subject by shooting wide open. Very cool- must try / do one day.

Yes those boks are pretty dark and defined in front of the background neb. Heaps of little ones in the FOV. It's the first time I saw so many in my Rosette shots.
