After maybe 15 years away, I thought I'd resurrect my old Meade ETX90ec Cassegrain (and revisit this site - nice to see you are still here !)
I'm really struggling to remember the alignment procedure, and how to use the
Autostar controller etc - but I figure it will come back to me.
..aside from a lot of dust, and some mystery goo - both rectified pretty easily - the eyepiece is missing from the viewfinder. (photo attached)
..so - does anyone know where I might pickup a replacement - either eyepiece or entire viewfinder - and what I actually need ? ( The OD of the unthreaded ring is about 22.5mm and in ID is 19.5mm - much too small for my 1.25" eyepieces from the main scope. )
..still, even with the lack of a viewfinder, or any kind of alignment, and with quite a bit of cloud/haze, and before it was fully dark - I still managed to show the kids Jupiter, Mars, and Saturn along with the moon last night. Very pleased !
