Try low power with a small scope and a UHC filter on N7000.
Its big, you can only see bits at a time. I usually start with the two stars in the Pelican neb and move over the dark lane to N7000, then down the east coast and around the gulf of Mexico area. Also try 20x80 binocs, they show it.
