Have often wondered about large dobsonians in the 20” to 24” inch range and if they can be more cheaply built using a solid aluminium tube when they don’t have to be portable and are housed permanently in a roll off observatory. Like John Dobson originally built them in some ways even though he used cardboard tubes.
The DOC telescopes do look amazing.
