As Carina is a super bright object, using the 2 x Powermate worked well with ISO 800 and plenty of 5 minute subs
I suspect dimmer objects wouldn't net the same result
Some more experimenting with the 2 x Powermate when skies are clear with no moon around is definitely on the cards
