I think "the tired light" problem exposes the possible problem but lets not worry about that I can see your point and why you arrive at it. If anyone disagrees give them a tape measure and tell them to check it for themselves. The tired light thing suggests that our expansion could be an illusion and that there was no big bang leaving us in a steady state condition, a favoured view of one time, but not now. Keep up the research.
