My daughters laptop stopped booting into windows 10, we needed to get the data of before I started to reinstall everything. Tried to make a bootable windows usb os, what a lot of hoo ha to get that happening, but a quick download of Ubuntu and a bit of free software to make that into a USB boot stick, so easy and painless and everything just worked no installation needed the OS ran of the usb.
