Another 5139

Here's another Omega Centauri, reinforcing what others have posted recently, that despite a bright moon in the sky, it's a good deep sky target under these conditions. I managed only 7.5 mins on this Tuesday night, from Bortle 6 skies (15 x 30 secs, 1600 iso, f 8). The Tamron 500mm mirror lens continues to impress me as a substitute for a compact get up and go telescope. It's long reach and light weight makes it the only 500mm focal length lens I can use on my Nano Tracker.

I must admit it was struggling to track cleanly as the target is almost overhead and slightly to the west at the time, putting the DSLR on a difficult angle to centre in the frame and creating balancing issues. 25 of my 40 subs were unusable. Maybe our dog or a possum knocked my tripod!
