NGC 3521 has a reasonably large extended halo formed from interactions with previous galaxies in the past. Some of that structure is visible in this image, but there's much more faint stuff to be found if one was inclined to go deep on it.
Unfortunately for me there's a giant eucalyptus tree on a neighbouring property behind my observatory, which means much of the north sky is obscured. I can image this one but only for a few hours a night, only able to go about 1hr past the meridian.
This image is an integration of just over 10hrs of LRGB.
