I ran across Larry Carlino's field review article, published on Cloudy Nights, of the 8" GSO f12 Cassegrain, located here:
https://www.cloudynights.com/article...ssegrain-r3215
He compares this 8" Cassegrain with several other scopes:
* a 150mm, f8, ED refractor (likely the Skywatcher ED150),
* a Celestrton C8,
* a Synta (Skywatcher), 180mm Mak-Cass.
Interesting comparison. Considering the present price point in Australia, the 8" GSO Cassegrain seems like a reasonable scope for the price, excelling at planetary use. It will be interesting to see how the 10" Cassegrain reviews compare, which I have not found yet.
However, there is this 10" CFF f15 Classical Cassegrain, the design of which closely resembles the 10" GSO f12 Classical Cassegrain, but the price is considerably higher, which is to be expected. It would be very interesting to see a side by side review of these two.
