Chainsaw?

How do you get the signal into your computer?? is it an option to mount the dongle on a stick, post...........whatever, away from you so it is not shaded by the tree??
If you can feed the signal into a router a network cable could be many feet ( meters ) long, how about a USB cable??
Failing that hire a bigger chainsaw!
