Nik is correct. This idea was debunked by a chief health official recently. However, it can survive on surfaces, which could include Glad Wrap, plates, etc.
And Leon, how is your example any different from Dominos Pizza delivering to your house? In Dominos case the box would be suspect, but I know they wear gloves when preparing the pizza and put it in the box using a big flat blade spatula.
