I have noticed Hayden Walker was a good forecaster because sunspot activity does effect on our weather conditions. I have reasonably great that he predicted NE NSW and SE QLD may get a monsoon this season:

HAYDON WALKER: Well, 2007 - the coastline of Queensland and the coastline of NSW - heavy rains, and that heavy rainfall obviously is going to be associated with cyclonic activity into Queensland. So that monsoonal season will extend from January through to March and a lot of that rainfall will go into the interior, as with New South Wales. So, it's a healthy start for, say, New South Wales and Queensland, particularly at the beginning of the year with its cyclonic activity.

Anyway he believed the eastern coast of Australia may get the wettest season of all time (not sure). More information here:
