Nice image of a popular glob
This glob has been rising and setting either side of the south meridian for what seems like an eternity
Looks like late in the season for a capture as it’s quite low like you mentioned
I normally start capturing objects ascending above 35deg Alt to minimise atmospheric thermal convection and distortion. Light pollution or skyglow seems worse at lower altitudes as well ( the star colours may have been affected by this)
