I love watching the crazy RC guys who build large scale (1/4 and larger) and them take them out to hobby air shows, mainly in the US and UK, but there are some pretty mad Germans as well. Utube is full of first flights, some of which end in disaster.

I built a fairly large dihedral wing RC glider when i lived in Calgary, and promptly destroyed it on the first flight, lesson learned.
