We had a fairly expensive at the time Dyson upright and considered it "Meh"
When that died we bought a Bosch barrel (About four years ago) and consider that a different sort of Meh. The advantage of the upright was the brush was motor driven where the Bosh has a turbine driven one, which requires complete disassembly about every six months when it fills with dirst and dog hair and stops running. Vacuum is fairly good when it's main filter is clean (In the waste barrel) it self cleans it every now and again but after a couple of cycles it works noticeably better if I pull it to bits and blow the fine dust out of the filter with my compressor.
So they both suck, to varying degrees!
The next vacuum need not apply unless it has a motor driven brush.
