Agreed Steve - the best way by far to replace Tak paint is stippling it on with either a stiff round brush as you mnetioned, or a foam applicator (better results). Also, DEFINITELY oil based enamel - acrylic just won't cut it.

I recently repaired a Tak FS-78 - oddly enough, Hans' former example - that someone butchered (super glued on Vixen finder base and so on list of deplorable work I had to remedy) and now you cannot tell it was done, back to as good as when Hans had it. (including putting on the 6x30 finder I got from Hans years ago that originally was on it)
