Compression?
Ron, is the compression for jpg's set high? Even a 20% compression factor can be damaging. I never compress jpg's because if you open it, make a change and re-save, it re-compresses. Eventually it losses integrity.
For some reason, png and tiff compression don't damage the photo, but jpg does. At least I think that is true. about png/tiff.
