That looks remarkably similar to the unit I've got - USB powered, you could adjust the brightness with the power button.
I found that even on the dimmest setting it was too bright for LRGB.
So, I've got 2 bits of white translucent perspex between it and the scope as well. Diffuses the light more and flats for L are around 2 sec each.
