The cosmic rays follow the Earths magnetic field so high latitudes are more affected.
Flight paths that go over the poles gives you more exposure, i.e. Sydney to Sth America will fly over the Sth Pole, and London to Japan would fly over the Nth Pole.

For the casual traveller as Peter said the exposure is no more than a Chest X-Ray, for cabin crew doing it daily it can be an issue.

One other danger from radiation exposure is Radon gas that is found in underground carparks and basements, depending on the type of rocks below the surface, granite being the most affected.
