I liked version 2 also Suavi over the other two. I am sure you will go over this more with colour and luminance data too.
I also found the background a pain too when I imaged this target. It just did not want to smooth out due the amount of stretching. That aside you have an interesting depth to the image. I am sure you will find a combination your like.
Definitely the deepest image with a 4 " getting around.
