I shot these in the garage, in the dark with the subject matter on an aluminium sheet using a 35mm slide projector for side on illumination.
The candle flame was augmented by carefully dripping drops of methylated spirits onto the flame, using 4 sec exposures. Here is a plain shot of the (then intact) candle.
The tomatoes are on top of my light box used for taking flats at the telescope! A 20 sec exposure that required darks to be subtracted – sheesh, what a nerd!
