Worked in the p/o for 5 years .. and I sure wouldn't trust them with anything of value.. insure it .. always.
Registered mail is a good indicator of how service standards have
slipped away over time.
registered mail used to travel seperately ..at each transfer point it
travelled through the system it was logged and balanced against
what was dispatched and recieved.. Though it travelled with standard mail it was in a seperate bag and was always dealt with first as the customer had paid for a premium service and they did get that.
today it travels as does everthing else and as near as i can tell the only
extra attention it gets is its pulled for a signature at its final delivery point
hope it turns up .. 2 weeks is a while though I have recieved
a parcel from detroit ..quicker than from brisbane !!
