When cleaning my sensor, I used microscope, and some dust partcles were very persistent in staying on glass..
Yes, Canon's piezo shake filter is pretty good for stock configurations, but once removed in filter mods you are going to need to clean once an awhile. Static has alot to do with adherence imho.
BTW, stop giving Ukastronomer oxygen.
