Stratosphere Sunshade - to combat climate change

So this "idea" put forward to disperse reflective aerosol material in the upper atmosphere, is getting some publicity.

A couple of points:

Do we really want to create the opportunity for governments and industry to 'excuse' action on climate change, by holding this up as a viable option to save us from our own stupidity and allow destruction to continue?

And for us astronomers, the dispersal of reflective particles in the upper atmosphere would pretty much destroy earth based astronomy imho.

I take some solace in that I have been able to enjoy dark clear skies for my 70 years, and have had the opportunity to observe and image the wonders therein; however my grandchildren and their children may not get that chance.
Let's all make sure our voices are heard on this issue, and not allow it to just slip into the inevitable basket on Scott Morrison's desk.
