Thanks Anthony, they do a pretty good job but not so good for birthday parties, holidays and family picnics!
They can't compete with a DSLR for versatility. If I was to get into this more seriously, a filter wheel would be nice and handy but I'm not, so I'll keep using the SLR for the majority of my shots.
