Southern NGC & IC History

FIVE EARLY SOUTHERN ASTRONOMERS

Three men discovered most of the far southern objects in the NGC catalogue.

1 Nicolas-Louis de Lacaille, Cape Town, 1751-52, 0.5” refractor
