What I enjoyed the most was there are no annoying neighbours at my new house who leave their outside lights on all night and therefore no ugly gradients. I didn't need to do any background extraction. Processing was little more than photometric colour calibration and noise reduction on rgb, gentle convolution on lum, then a lrgb combination with a bit of fiddling with curves.
I like the Trifid in rgb but I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of the two pending deep narrowband versions of the Trifid that will emerge soon in this forum...
