Sunspot 905 - Brisbane 23 August 2006 11:02am

Hello,

Well, hot on the heels of Sunspot 904 is….Sunspot 905. Once more, seeing conditions were somewhat challenging today. Here is an image from this morning, 23rd August at 11:20am. It consists of only 2 frames.

I manually selected these best two frames, 448 and 449, from an 1800 frame avi and then stitched them together in Corel Photo Paint 12 to produce this final image. It is quite “thin” so doesn’t stand up to any further processing.

Celestron C9.25, Astrozap full aperture Baader solar film filter, Vixen x2 Barlow.
Philips ToUcam 840K. 5fps, 1/250 sec.
Acquired in K3CCDTools. Frames selected in Virtual Dub.
Brisbane, Qld, Australia. 11:02am AEST (GMT+10)

Cheers

Dennis

EDIT: I managed to find another 2 decent frames on an avi from later in the morning, so this 2nd image is a stack of 4.
