Though my SPSP star party sample only covers six years, it’s still a fair example. In those 18 nights at SPSP I’ve had 8 clear skies. I just ran a star party in April at my property and had six out of six clear nights. Last April I had six out of seven clear nights. May is traditionally the transition month in this region from the autumn to winter weather pattern. I’m sure someone responsible for programming the star party has worked that out by now. A move to April would be a huge boost to the event.
