No problem. I've always used smallish laptops to guide and capture images. The one I'm using now is a small HP pavillion. Reguarding USB all you need to do it move all your USB connections at the scope side. The only thing I run off the laptop is my mouse and one daisy chain of 2x5m active USB extensions (Lindy). That's it. On the other end I have a mount hub pro with all the connections, USB, serial, power.
