Martin, the reasons you give for prefering your 6" f/6 don't make sense to me, the extra 11% of focal length doesn't stop you getting the whole moon in the
frame, so what is the disadvantage? You can't have too much aperture for
lunar work, the greater the aperture the more magnification you can use if you wish, but more importantly, the smaller the details that can be resolved.
Win win situation.
