There are a few problems with hair dryers that I found when getting rid of dew on the secondary mirror.
First make sure it does not blow dust onto the mirror or into the focuser and onto the coma corrector, I found out that the hard way.

Second, yes it gets rid of the dew but the optimal focus point changes and for the next 5 minutes I find I'm chasing the focus until it stabilises.

After 15 minutes its back to dew again, so I don't bother with the hair dryer anymore, a dew heater is much better and stable.
