StarSense question

I have just bought a GSO 8" RC OTA. (Make sense of that!) its on a new Celestron CGX mount with StarSense. Very happy with it. I'm an SCT man and new to GEMs, counter weights and even Celestron. So far I have managed to calibrate the SS and OTA views and thought that the polar aligning would be easy. However I misread the instructions and need to try again. But part of the procedure calls for adding multiple Cal Reference points. Later the instruction reads being prompted to add Cal Star.
But looking through the manual I cannot find any reference to this mysterious Cal Reference or Cal Star (to improve accuracy.)
If anyone knows I'd be grateful for some information on what this is, what it does any how to do it.
Cheers!
Popeye.
