Google Earth has updated its imagery, Im astounded at the detail now. I found not only my place, but my covered telescope mount is just visible (arrowed). Wider images included as well as the Newcastle Astro Society local viewing venue a few Kms awy from my place , see the circular mown area on disused Waterboard land.
How about we keep this thread going with "your place from space", use Google Earth (needs broadband to work) to find your place, or a place of interest and post it here
