I have a 300D, and in fact have already made a remote for it out of a 2.5mm mono jack plug and an instantaneous press button switch, works perfectly, and cost $2.50 ono for the bits from Dick Smith, but the wires are untidy, and I thought that making a coiled cable would tidy it up a bit. I also have the RC1 remote IR release, but you have to be able to point that at the IR sensor, and that isn't always that easy, especially if you are behind the camera. Thanks for the tip.
