Impressive, isn't it? Glad you found it at last!
This is the best time of the year to see the MW. It stretches across the sky from south to north with the centre of the galaxy directly overhead soon after dusk. Under dark skies it is an awesome sight. You'll never see anything quite like it in the northern hemisphere!
