Away from the lights

Packed the car and headed out to a darker site half an hour from home. A blanket of smoke haze had drifted over from nearby bushfires but I took a risk because I planned to target objects high in the sky.

Revisited NGC 2997 (32 x 90 second subs) and finished off with a quick shot of flavour of the month NGC 3293 (3 x 90 second subs) as high cloud started to roll in. Both shots were taken unguided at 1600iso on the HEQ5pro mount with a modded Canon 550d connected to an f5 8 inch Newtonian.
