Heq5 puck

I have been having a little trouble with the pointing and tracking performance of a second hand HEQpro. Imagine my surprise when I removed the puck and found that it was held on with three tiny grub screws into alloy which had clearly allowed some movement. I am glad I have only used a 3.5kg scope.

I would like to modifiy this (some tapped screws? )The design is pretty bad and based on appearance and cost rather than performance.

Does the EQ6 or 8 have a better system. ?

Where the scope is clamped in the dovetail by two 5/16 bolts it seems disproportionate and cheap to hang an expensive scope on a puck fixed with three tiny set screws where other mounts have 2 x 8mm bolts. Particularly slewing with a heavy scope.

Has any one seen a modification?
