Daystar says and most users follow the rule that you just need a uv/ir filter in front of the Quark up to 150mm . At 150 and over should use a front ERF
. I use mine with an 80 , 102 and 127 refactors with just a 2"uv/ir filter and no issues with heat at all.
I should add that if you have an oil spaced lens or rear elements thats a different matter.
